About our masonry contractor team in Chico

Why I started a masonry business in Chico
I learned masonry on a big commercial crew, laying brick, block and stone on buildings a lot bigger than a house. The jobs I liked most were the ones nobody else wanted to figure out, like a leak no one could track down or an old wall that needed a careful match. I started this business in Chico in 2020 to do that kind of work for homeowners and for people who own older brick homes and storefronts, and it's still what we're known for.
On those commercial jobs I watched good brick get ruined by the wrong mortar or a fast tool, and I don't want that on your house. So I ask a lot of questions first. Chico sits in a high earthquake risk area, so when an old wall cracks I want to know whether the ground moved, water got in or the wrong mortar went in years ago before I touch it. You can see the work we do on our home page, or tell us what's going on with yours.

What working with us is like
We find out why it failed
Before we price a repair, we figure out why your brick, block or stone cracked, leaned or leaked, because a patch over the wrong problem usually just fails again. If something isn't worth fixing, I'll tell you that straight.
The person who bids it is there when it's built
I come out, look at the job and write the estimate myself, and then I'm on site while our own crew does the work, so what we talked about in your driveway is what gets built. Your written estimate shows what's included, like the base, the drainage and hauling the old material out, so you can compare bids fairly.
We take the tricky ones
Old brick that needs a careful match, a chimney leak nobody's found, a wall another mason passed on. Those are the calls I like most, and we'll work through them with you until we know what's really going on.
Licensed, insured and set up for Chico permits
State contractor's license
Fully licensed and insured. A contractor applying for City of Chico permits for the first time needs both a California State Contractor's License number and a valid city business license number.
City business license and permits
The city requires a current business license for every business doing work inside Chico city limits, home offices included. When your job needs a permit, we find out whether the city's Building Division or the county covers your address and take care of the paperwork as part of the job.
